Palm Oil Industry killing orangutans
... is the title of the editorial in yesterday's Jakarta Post - I see no need to change that. It's certainly good news to see the issue promoted within Indonesia, making it a very local issue for the newspaper's readership in Borneo and Sumatra - though focusing on orangutans it also mentions the effect on indigenous local people. Malaysian minister and tourist board call for end of palm oil plantations in orangutan habitat areas
Promising sounds from Malaysian Borneo today - palm oil producers are being urged to avoid encroaching into habitat of orangutans and elephants. In addition the tourist board have called for an end to any unauthorised research on orangutans

UK MPs asked to consider palm oil issue
There has been further high profile pressure in the palm oil campaign today.
